Ancestral Yearnings

"Ancestral Yearnings" is a series of work that I have never completed, will never finish, and can never be put away because every day of my life is an ancestral yearning to be home in my ancestors arms. I am guided by their secret whisperings that move into my ear and into my mind like the slow smoke of a fire, a cigarette, the sound of a whisper.  I live in the past, I live in the future, but my life is a back and forth movement from one to the other. I am guided by these, feed off of these, eat them, sleep with them, because I am my ancestors and they are me. Every step, every thought, every cry of pain or joy is theirs.
